During my holiday break in Alicante my family and I took a few days to visit Valencia. It's a city of about 1.5 million people (not including the larger metropolitan area) just north of Alicante. I'd never been, so we spent a few days sight-seeing and touring the city. Here's a photo dump ;) :) Valencia is a really cool city, but I'm glad my family decided to rent a place in Alicante. It's smaller and not as crazy. ;) We walked around the old town of Valencia, where our Airbnb was, and saw a bunch of street art. We then spent hours (and I mean many hours) visiting museums. The silk guild and silk museum are two places worth seeing as well as the science museum and aquarium. I didn't know silk had such a history in Valencia, but it was central to the city and it's trading for 100s of years. The science museum is fun and has exhibits on dinosaur bones (found in the region), electricity, chromosomes, and gravity. They even have a floor full of discovery and hands on modules where you can test your memory and learn all kinds of fun facts about the universe and laws of physics. I learned a lot and will definitely go back. We didn't have time to visit the art museum before we left, so it's on my list for my next visit to the area.
