October! I'm 25! Woohoo! Let the quarter life crisis begin haha ;) My roommates and I ate out on my birthday and spent the day at the spa. I also got a new puzzle that I finished in 5 days. After two weeks online, I started at work in person this week. The kids are great. The atmosphere is totally different from my previous school. Teaching has presented new challenges since we can’t do group or partner work, students can’t come to the board, and we can’t share materials. Everyone wears a mask all the time, we stay distanced, the windows are opened in the classrooms and everyone has to sanitize their hands going in and out of the classroom, not to mention the school. The kids have their temperatures taken every morning upon arrival, and the classes enter at different times and at different doors to make distancing easier. Classes don’t intermingle even at recess; everyone is sectioned off into their block and have to stay distanced at all times. It’s definitely going to be an interesting year as we all get used to a new way of doing things.
In other news, starting on Monday they'll shut down the restaurants and bars again here and we'll go into perimeter lockdown until the end of November. I had to get special papers to allow me to go in-between cities, since I live in Logroño but work in Haro. What crazy times we live in. I find it's hard to write about things with all the upheaval in the past 6 months, it's like a mental block. The virus and it's aftermath has certainly affected the whole world in so many ways.
