It’s been a while since I updated my blog, partly due to my health. Since this is my first time working with children on a regular basis, my immune system is not used to the constant onslaught of colds, flu, and sickness in general. I’ve been in and out of sinus infections and colds for a few weeks and a week ago I missed work completely with a flu like virus. The doctor didn’t want it to turn into Pneumonia, so he had me take the week off. Being sick has totally thrown off any semblance of routine I was beginning to build, so I’m a bit of a mess right now. I’m definitely feeling all the changes I’ve made in the past few months. This is my first time in the “real world” and not as a student, and honestly... it’s weird. Having said that, I know I’ll eventually (I’m not saying it’ll be easy) figure it out (that or I’ll figure out a way to go back to school sooner rather than later). I’m really enjoying Logroño and the school, but I need to do some more exploring and find groups to join. I have my eye on a climbing/bouldering club near my apartment. I figure that could be an interesting challenge and a place to get my exercise. While I’ve never been one to get really homesick when I’ve traveled, when I’m sick my general mood is "everything sucks and what the hell am I doing with my life". Thankfully it passes once I get out into the sunshine, have human interaction, and feel alive again. So I’m learning as I go. I'm hoping to find/build some much needed structure into my life in the next few weeks and get out more. We'll see what happens. :) Some adorable peacocks that live in a local park.

One foot in front of another, my dear. Transition times are not easy...but they get us into a new place in our lives. :-) Comments are closed.
