During the long weekend this month I decided to visit Bilbao and see the Guggenheim museum. I had been to the Guggenheim in Venice, but not the ones in Bilbao or New York. It was so much fun! I found a cheap hostel and stayed two nights in the city, which gave me time to wander and see the christmas market and a few museums.
Wow, November has gone by in a flash! Besides my crazy "figuring out life" stuff, life is good. School has been going well, the kids are getting giddy as December approaches. We've had several new students start this month, all refugees from Sahara and Saudi Arabia. Only one knows a bit of Spanish, the rest only speak Arabic; making it a challenge for everyone involved. The kids are slowly finding their way though, as there are several Spanish kids who speak Arabic and are of Arab decent, so they are helping translate. Meanwhile I'm wacking myself over the head for not studying Arabic officially in school--I'm going to get more serious about that now.
It’s been a while since I updated my blog, partly due to my health. Since this is my first time working with children on a regular basis, my immune system is not used to the constant onslaught of colds, flu, and sickness in general. I’ve been in and out of sinus infections and colds for a few weeks and a week ago I missed work completely with a flu like virus. The doctor didn’t want it to turn into Pneumonia, so he had me take the week off.
